the Deadly Mixture

"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth" NKJV REV 3:16

"I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You're not cold, you're not hot--far better to be either cold or hot! You're stale. You're stagnant. You make me want to vomit" The Message

For a while i struggled with this verse
I have heard people telling me 'it is not good to be a lukewarm christian'
.....God does not like that...you make Him angry... OOps
to be a HOT christian.to be a nominal christian. But not lukewarm?
that does not sit well with what i believe
totally out of character with my loving daddy
it does not make sense too.Why would God rather you be cold than lukewarm?
what does it mean?
that God wants you to be on the hots for Him?
that He will 'vomit you out' if you are lukewarm?
but He also said that it is better to be COLD OR HOT...
quite obvious not a MIXTURE
Finally i realised the truth
it refers to the old and new covenant
it refers to SELF righteousness and HIS righteousness
it refers to self effort and grace
indeed HE does not delight in confused believers
For HE has redeemed us from the curse of the law Gal 3:13
For HE said without Me you can do nothing John 15:5
and nothing indeed means NOTHING!!
but there are many people who doesn't really seemed to catch that
'i can do some things myself'
'those that i can't do, i'll submit it to God'
'yea God is good. but i don't think He is interested in such minor things'
Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little
children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Matt 18:3
Little children speaks of simple trust.
total dependence on the parent.humility.
Isn't that too good to be true!?
Every single need shall be taken care of.
HIS grace is sufficient.
Is it possible to fall from that GRACE?
Indeed surely, YES. For the bible says:
you have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be
justified by law; you have fallen from grace. Gal5:4
WOW...that's the effect of the Deadly mixture!!
Take your pick!
For if the ministry of condemnation had glory,
the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory 2 Cor 3:9
