new lease of life

The English service was FULL
even the overflow rooms were filled
Oh God, how could that happen?
i was looking forward to attend church
to listen to Ps Prince
but not by chance, i was placed in a Mandarin service
i doubted i could understand the full sermon
but amazingly i did. well, at least my spirit did
it was a small congregation
they were mostly older uncles and aunties
more elderly women i would say (for u to ponder why)
they worshipped God, and i mean worship!
the joy so blatantly written over their faces
the singing and clapping
it was awesome
i was touched, so touched
to see them so zealous for God
so pure and sincere
it was very humbling
i was reminded that God uses the weak to put to shame the mighty things of the world
HE is the great I AM. for what i am not

Mandarin service was fun. nothing too complex
just the simple truth
everyone accepted with faith and conviction
again so humbling to see such beliving hearts

at the end
She raised her hands
stood up and walked to the alter
humbled before the Lord
accepted Jesus as her saviour
She is in her Sixties
She has spent 2/3 of her life lost
but God is merciful
HE came to give life, abundant life!
She knew she was weak, helpless and hopeless maybe
But she made a choice that sunday
a choice that injected a new breathe of life in her
no longer the weak and poor old woman she used to be
Now the precious child of God
someone she can call papa once again
to rely upon and hope of love and provision in all things
knowing that she cannot depend on herself anymore
surrendering everything into HIS hands
